Hoppity Hooper, the cartoon frog from Foggy Bog, Wisconsin, was the creation of Jay Ward (of The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle fame). A similar-looking character originally debuted in an episode of "Fractured Fairy Tales," and the frog was later modified to headline a series when The Bullwinkle Show was cancelled in 1964. Each story arc of Hoppity Hooper consisted of four segments airing over two weeks, usually centered around the schemes of huckster Waldo Wigglesworth (a fox), his dim companion Fillmore (a bear), and the innocent but lovable frog Hoppity. The Adventures of Hoppity Hooper (later called "The Uncle Waldo Show") was packaged with the same feature cartoons as other Jay Ward series and was later syndicated through the mid 1970s. However, the title character never achieved the lasting fame of Bullwinkle, Rocky, Dudley Do-Right, or Mr. Peabody.
