Greene appeared in this commercial, the most famous of which first aired on 1 September 1979 in which a child (Tommy Okon) gives him a Coke, prompting "Mean" Joe to smile and give the kid his game jersey. The commercial was listed as one of the top ten commercials of all time by TV Guide magazine.
